The grid here is asymmetric on purpose. Bands of cream bone cross a deep navy ground at irregular intervals, leaving blocks of colour at different scales, so the eye keeps moving rather than settling into a repeat.

Tapered walnut-finish legs lift the piece into mid century territory, which is where this pattern belongs. Three drawers with round brass knobs.

Bone inlay furniture asks very little. Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately afterwards.

Avoid standing water, and wipe spills as soon as they happen. Bone is porous and prolonged moisture can lift the polish. Never use household cleaners, solvents, bleach or furniture polish, as these dull the finish and can discolour the ground.

Keep the piece out of prolonged direct sunlight, which fades pigmented resin over years. Mango wood responds to humidity, so avoid placing it against a radiator or in a damp room.

Coasters under drinks and felt pads under lamps will keep the top looking new. Handled sensibly, a bone inlay piece outlasts the room it was bought for.

Every piece ships fully insured and crated.

If yours arrives damaged, Capture a video and photo of it and email us within 24 hours. We will replace or refund it in full, and you do not need to return anything. Sending furniture back to India costs more than the piece is worth, so we do not ask you to.

Because each piece is made to order in your chosen colour and size, we cannot accept returns for change of mind. This is standard for custom-made furniture. To make sure you are happy before it ships, we photograph your finished piece and send you the images for approval. Nothing leaves the workshop until you confirm.

Your piece is made to order and takes 2 to 3 weeks in the workshop. Once finished and approved, it ships by insured air freight and reaches most addresses in 5 to 10 business days. Total time from order to delivery is usually 4 to 6 weeks.

We ship to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the UAE, Germany and beyond.

Import duty and local taxes are charged by your country's customs authority on delivery, not by us. Rates vary by destination. We have priced our pieces to help offset this, and your carrier will contact you directly if a payment is due.

Larger orders can ship by sea freight, which costs less and reduces duty. Contact us before ordering if that suits you better.

Bone. We use water buffalo bone, sourced from animals raised for food. It is a byproduct of the meat industry that would otherwise be discarded. No animal is ever raised or killed for its bone.

This is not ivory. It contains no elephant, no endangered species, and no protected material of any kind. Bone inlay has been practised in India for centuries precisely because bone was the material available once ivory was not.

Mother of pearl. The iridescent inner lining of the shell, a byproduct of shellfish harvested for food. Cut and shaped by hand in the same way as bone.

Mango wood. Farmed rather than felled from forest. Mango trees are grown for fruit and cut once they stop producing, so the timber is a secondary yield from land already in agricultural use.

Engineered wood. Used where a surface needs to stay flat. Solid timber moves with humidity, and that movement cracks inlay over time. An engineered panel holds its shape, which is what keeps thousands of hand-set fragments flush for decades.
